I Grow This Magic Plant and You Should Too!

40c423cd1765f559_aloe-xxxlarge-e1396899027742I adore my aloe vera plant, and I keep a HUGE leaf in my fridge at all times. I’m sure you may have had a reason to rub some on your skin, but aloe vera has many other healing properties.

Aloe Vera (barbadensis miller) contains over 20 minerals, all of which are essential to the human body. The human body requires 22 amino acids for good health — eight of which are called “essential” because the body cannot fabricate them. Aloe Vera contains all of these eight essential amino acids, and 11 of the 14 “secondary” amino acids. Aloe Vera has Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E.

You’ll need to add about 2-4oz of the gel to your water or juice to get the dietary benefits of the aloe. It tastes quite bitter as an additive, so you’ll want to add some fresh peppermint and lemon to cut the taste. I use it as a staple ingredient in all of my fresh fruit waters. Tell a friend, spread #knowledge.
